Oliseh Lauds Super Eagles’ Goalkeeper Nwabali After Semifinal Victory

Former Nigerian international, Sunday Oliseh, has showered praise on Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali following Nigeria’s victory over South Africa in the semifinal of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Wednesday.

Oliseh commended Nwabali for his outstanding performance against the Bafana Bafana, describing him as ‘another hero born’.

Taking to his social media account, Oliseh expressed admiration for Nwabali’s composure and unwavering faith in God, highlighting the goalkeeper’s reassuring smile that contributed to Nigeria’s triumph.

“Nwabali! Nwabali!! Nwabali!!! After Osimhen’s 5-star performance, another hero is born! What composure, belief in God, and a reassuring smile by our Naija goalkeeper to send us to the AFCON Final,” Oliseh wrote, exuding confidence and satisfaction.

“Now I can face my FIFA colleagues with a smile .. lol.”

Nwabali’s stellar performance was instrumental in securing Nigeria’s victory as the Super Eagles defeated South Africa in a thrilling encounter that ended 1-1 after 120 minutes of play. During the penalty shootout, Nwabali’s heroics saw him save two crucial penalties, ultimately propelling Nigeria to a 4-2 victory.

With the semifinal triumph secured, Nigeria is now set to face Ivory Coast in the final showdown on Sunday, with hopes of clinching the prestigious AFCON title once again.
