CAF Offers Condolences to Super Eagles Goalkeeper Nwabali After AFCON Final Loss

Date:

Following Nigeria’s defeat in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Ivory Coast, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) extended condolences to Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

Despite Nwabali’s commendable performance throughout the tournament, including the final match, where Nigeria fell 2-1 to Ivory Coast, he was unable to secure victory for Jose Peseiro’s team.

Ivory Coast’s Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller found the net, overshadowing William Troost-Ekong’s goal for Nigeria.

In a tweet following the game, CAF expressed support for Nwabali, acknowledging the disappointment of the loss but emphasizing that it’s not the end of the journey.
