Woman Shot While Protesting Naked Against Supreme Court’s Verdict on Governor Sule’s Election

Date:

A woman who was protesting naked against the Supreme Court’s judgment affirming the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule has been shot.

The protests erupted in Lafia and other parts of the state following the court’s verdict, which upheld Sule’s election and dismissed the case brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Emmanuel Ombugadu.

In a video shared on social media, the woman was seen walking naked and alone when an unidentified person shot at her.

The disturbing footage showed the woman crying and rolling in a pool of her blood. The woman’s identity has not been confirmed at the moment.

A background voice commenting in Hausa language after the woman fell remarked, “Lafia has become what it has become.”

Prior to this incident, the police in the state had forcefully dispersed elderly women at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state secretariat, using tear gas.

The Supreme Court’s decision has triggered widespread protests and tensions in various parts of the state.
