A private jet carrying approximately 10 individuals, including Very Important Personalities (VIPs), crash-landed in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The incident occurred around 11 am at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, with the jet, registered as N580KR, veering off the runway and landing in a nearby bush.
Emergency responders, including firefighters and rescue teams from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), swiftly mobilized to the scene. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries reported among the passengers.
Carol Adekotujo, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), confirmed the incident, stating that the private plane had originated from Abuja and landed safely despite overshooting the runway.
Tunji Oketunmbi, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), also verified the occurrence. Further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash-landing are expected to be provided shortly.
