President Bola Tinubu is set to unveil Nigeria’s groundbreaking electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (e-CRVS) on November 8.
The e-CRVS is a National Population Commission project developed in collaboration with UNICEF and Barnksforte Technologies Ltd under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework.
This project, which has received final approvals during the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, is expected to revolutionize civil registration in Nigeria. It will provide an advanced and digitalized approach to collecting and managing vital statistics, including births, deaths, marriages, and other significant life events.
The e-CRVS system will streamline and enhance the recording of vital events, improving accuracy, accessibility, and transparency in maintaining vital records nationwide. President Tinubu’s inauguration of this innovative system marks a significant step toward modernizing and digitizing Nigeria’s civil registration process. It will establish a more robust and technologically advanced infrastructure for capturing and managing essential life events.
