The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that there will be no election in polling units with no registered voters during the governorship election in Imo on Saturday, November 11.
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, stated that elections would be held in 10,470 polling units, excluding the 40 units without registered voters.
Detailed information on these excluded units has been published by INEC. Additionally, the commissioner revealed that 16 political parties are sponsoring candidates for the election in Bayelsa State, while 18 parties are sponsoring candidates in both Imo and Kogi states.
Olumekun emphasized that each political party is expected to nominate polling agents for all polling units and collation centers. He noted that despite having candidates in the election, some parties have no agents nominated for certain states.
