The preparations for the final burial of the renowned billionaire business mogul, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, are in full swing as his hometown of Isiokpo gets ready to receive its illustrious son for his eternal rest.
From the Port Harcourt International Airport to Wigwe International University, located ten kilometers away, every corner is being prepared to welcome the “august visitor” with utmost respect.
Roads are being cleared, potholes fixed, and contractors are working tirelessly on the university project. Even the Redeemed Christian Church of God parish in Isiokpo is adorned in a befitting manner for the occasion.
Numerous hectares of land have been designated as car parks to manage the expected human and vehicular traffic on the day of the burial.
However, despite the grand preparations, Dr. Herbert Wigwe will not be seen with his usual smile upon his arrival at the airport. His final resting place, a private cemetery within the university grounds, stands as a testament to his immense wealth even in death.
The mausoleum, constructed with state-of-the-art Italian Carara marble and granite galaxy, houses three tombs, each a sight to behold.
Inscribed with the words “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength,” the private cemetery reflects the vision and wealth of Dr. Wigwe, showcasing his detribalized nature through the diverse labor deployed in the construction of the university.
While the completion of his visions, including the university, remains uncertain, the ongoing construction and meticulous attention to detail reflect Dr. Wigwe’s unwavering commitment to excellence and his enduring legacy.
