The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security across the state through enhanced intelligence-led policing, operational efficiency and improved personnel welfare.
The commitment was made on Monday during the Command’s monthly strategic conference, presided over by the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, at the Police Headquarters in Uyo.
The conference brought together senior officers to review the prevailing security situation across the state, assess ongoing operations and develop strategies to improve crime prevention, intelligence gathering, public safety and service delivery.
Addressing the officers, Azare urged them to remain disciplined, proactive and professional in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
He also stressed the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration, effective intelligence gathering and operational efficiency in consolidating the Command’s security gains.
A major highlight of the conference was the decoration of two newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police following their elevation from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police.
The officers decorated were ACP Nnudam Korsere Fredrick and ACP Augustine Udourioh Joseph.
Congratulating the officers, Azare described their promotion as recognition of merit as well as a call to greater responsibility.
He urged them to demonstrate exemplary leadership, integrity, accountability and commitment to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force in their new roles.
The conference also featured a hepatitis screening exercise organised by the Command’s Medical Services Department to mark World Hepatitis Day.
According to the Command, the health initiative was aimed at promoting early detection, raising awareness about hepatitis, encouraging preventive healthcare and emphasising the importance of regular medical check-ups among police personnel.
Azare stressed that the health, welfare and professional development of officers remained critical to effective policing.
He assured residents that the Command would continue to strengthen its operational capacity and sustain proactive policing measures aimed at protecting lives and property across Akwa Ibom State.
