Ruger’s declaration comes shortly after parting ways with Jonzing World Records, owned by music executive D’Prince. He took to Instagram on February 6, 2023, to express gratitude to Jonzing World and D’Prince while announcing his departure, emphasizing his decision to bet on himself.
In a newly released freestyle titled ‘Blownboy’ under his personal label, Blown Boy Entertainment, Ruger solidifies his stance by officially renouncing any allegiance to godfatherism, boldly asserting himself as his own boss.
“I denounce every loyalty to some godfather, this year I’m about me,” he sings in the freestyle video shared on his YouTube page on Friday.
Ruger’s move signals a shift towards independence and self-reliance, as he sets out to carve his own path in the music industry.
