Prolific Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has officially kicked off principal photography for his upcoming supernatural thriller, and he is already teasing audiences with stunning visuals from the set.
In a recent social media post, Afolayan shared a glimpse of the production’s breathtaking visuals from day one, leaving fans eager for more.
Produced by KAP Motion Pictures, this untitled supernatural thriller boasts a stellar cast, including Jimmy Jean-Louis, Bolaji Ogunmola, Olarotimi Fakunle, and Akorede Bobo. The film is expected to make its debut in 2024. Additionally, fans are eagerly awaiting a release date for the follow-up series to “Anikulapo.”
This exciting news comes hot on the heels of Afolayan’s third movie of the year, “Ijogbon,” which was released less than a month ago on October 13, 2023. Written by Tunde Babalola, “Ijogbon” tells the story of four teenagers from a rural village in south-west Nigeria who stumble upon a pouch of diamonds. The film made waves on Netflix, garnering 5.7 million hours of views from 2.9 million viewers and ranking as the sixth most-watched non-English film globally between October 16 – 22, 2023.
Kunle Afolayan’s recent achievements include winning the African Movie Academy Award in 2023 for Best Achievement in Production Design and receiving the Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in an African Language for “Anikulapo.” His commitment to storytelling and his ability to captivate audiences continue to earn him accolades and international recognition.
