In a show of solidarity, World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has rallied behind the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they gear up to face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi-final clash of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Taking to her X account on social media, Okonjo-Iweala extended her support to the Nigerian team, urging them to secure victory against South Africa and advance to the AFCON finals. She conveyed her best wishes to Jose Peseiro’s men for the crucial encounter.
“Wishing our very own Super Eagles the best of luck tomorrow!! Let’s get it done,” Okonjo-Iweala expressed in her tweet.
The Super Eagles secured their spot in the semi-finals after defeating Angola 1-0 in the quarter-final, while South Africa advanced by winning 2-1 in a penalty shootout against Cape Verde.
