Ivory Coast football legend Didier Drogba expressed his joy over his country’s victory in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-finals against Mali by passionately singing the national anthem.
Following Ivory Coast’s dramatic 2-1 triumph over Mali, which secured them a spot in the semi-finals against DR Congo, Drogba was captured on video singing the national anthem on a plane, showcasing his pride and excitement for the team’s success.
Taking to his X account after the game, Drogba further expressed his jubilation, stating, “I said that…..it was SPOILED.”
Drogba, who had a distinguished international career with over 60 appearances for Ivory Coast and served as the team’s captain from 2006 until his retirement, is renowned for his legendary tenure at Chelsea FC, where he played from 2004 to 2012 and remains one of the club’s most decorated players.
