Date:

Following their triumphant win in the Africa Cup of Nations, Cote d’Ivoire has declared Monday a work-free day to honor Les Elephants’ victory.

The hosts clinched their third AFCON title by defeating Nigeria 2-1 in a thrilling final on Sunday night.

The Super Eagles took the lead with a goal from William Troost-Ekong eight minutes before halftime. However, Emerse Fae’s side staged a remarkable comeback in the second half, with Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller finding the net.

The streets erupted in celebration throughout the night as locals rejoiced in the team’s success.
