Liberia’s newly sworn-in President, 79-year-old Joseph Boakai, experienced a sudden bout of ‘heat-induced faintness.’

The alarming incident prompted him to abruptly cut short his acceptance speech and be swiftly escorted off the podium in the capital city, Monrovia.

Amidst concerns for his well-being, the president’s office released a statement attributing the episode to exhaustion.
