The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday presented Certificates of Return to the winners of Saturday’s rerun and by-election at its headquarters in Abuja.
Among those who received the certificates were Prof. Anthony Okorie, the Senator-elect for Ebonyi South, Mr. Pam Dachungyang, the Senator-elect for Plateau North, and Musa Mustapha, the Senator-elect for Yobe East.
Others included Ifeanyi Ozokwe, the Representative-elect for Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo, Clara Nnabuife, the Representative-elect for Orumba North/Orumba South, Ehindero Babatunde, the Representative-elect for Akoko North East/Akoko North West, and Daniel Ago, the Representative-elect for Jos North/Basa.
After collecting his certificate, Prof. Okorie dedicated his victory to the people of Ebonyi South, urging them to trust him to be their good representative in the Senate.
Senator-elect Uzokwe appreciated INEC for conducting a free, fair, and credible election, emphasizing the importance of stronger institutions for a better Nigeria.
Ozokwe also commended President Bola Tinubu for not interfering in the rerun and by-election, and praised the security personnel for their professional conduct during the election.
Similarly, Nnabuife expressed gratitude to the people of Orumba North/Orumba South, particularly the women who supported her and trusted her with their mandate. She pledged not to let them down.
