Palestinian militant group Hamas has issued a statement urging residents of Gaza City to remain in their homes after Israel called for an evacuation of the city’s northern areas.
Hamas accused Israel of attempting to spread false propaganda to create confusion among the citizens of Gaza. In response to escalating tensions, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) had advised civilians to evacuate Gaza City and move south for their safety. The IDF stated that it planned to operate in Gaza City in the coming days and wanted to avoid harming civilians. The statement added that Hamas terrorists were allegedly using civilians as human shields.
The situation in the region remains tense, with recent attacks and counterattacks causing significant loss of life and damage on both sides of the conflict. Israel and Hamas have been engaged in a violent and destructive confrontation. The Israeli government has declared a state of alert for war and conducted retaliatory airstrikes on Gaza. Gaza has seen heavy casualties, and Israeli authorities have reported that dozens of people were kidnapped and taken to Gaza.
The ongoing violence has prompted international concern, with calls for a ceasefire and peaceful negotiations to end the conflict. The situation remains fluid, and the risk to civilian populations on both sides remains high. Diplomatic efforts continue to seek a resolution and prevent further escalation of hostilities.
