Zamfara West Senator, Abdulaziz Yari, has announced a substantial initiative to distribute 358 trucks of assorted food items, including rice, millet, sugar, and maize, to residents of Zamfara state in preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
Ibrahim Muhammed, Chairman of the Publicity Committee of A A Yari Political Organisation, revealed in a statement issued in Gusau on Sunday that the distribution would be carried out without regard to political affiliation.
The initiative aims to benefit approximately 17,500 households across 13 out of 14 Local Government Areas in Zamfara state.
Muhammed confirmed that over 98% of the allocated food items have already been successfully transported to various local government areas, ensuring timely distribution to the intended beneficiaries.
The recipients of these palliatives include the needy, orphans, widows, and divorcees, reflecting a commitment to supporting vulnerable segments of the population.
Assuring that distribution will commence before the commencement of Ramadan, Muhammed urged the public to pray for the well-being of the former governor, the state, and the nation as a whole.
