President Bola Tinubu arrived at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, for the inauguration of his second term.
His plane touched down at 1:19 pm, and he began his visit by commissioning the 10-kilometer Bola Tinubu Drive at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport.
Following the commissioning, President Tinubu, accompanied by a substantial number of Nigerian dignitaries, proceeded to the Dan Anyiam Stadium for the swearing-in ceremony. Notable figures present at the airport to receive the President included Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and several governors.
Governors in attendance included Babaji Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Alex Otti (Abia), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Rev. Ft Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Francis Nwifuru (Ebony), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), and Ahmad Sokoto (Sokoto). Ministers such as Doris Uzoka-Anite (Industry, Trade and Investment) and Uche Nnaji (Innovation, Science, and Technology) were also present.
Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha and Hon. Uche Ekwunife, among other dignitaries, joined the gathering at the airport. President Tinubu, accompanied by his Principal Private Secretary, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, proceeded to the Dan Anyiam Stadium for the inauguration ceremony.
