President Bola Tinubu criticized the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for calling a nationwide strike, stating that his administration cannot be judged after just nine months in office.
He made these remarks at the inauguration of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) held at Ikeja Train Station.
Tinubu emphasized that it is unacceptable to call for a strike in such a short period and suggested that the NLC should wait until the 2027 general elections to contest. He reiterated his commitment to addressing corruption, describing it as a menace that must be eradicated.
The President commended Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his administration’s achievements, particularly in the transportation sector. He emphasized the importance of planning and preparing for Nigeria’s growing population and urged continued commitment to progress and greatness.
Tinubu highlighted the economic opportunities that would arise from the completion of the LRMT project and expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future despite economic challenges. He urged Nigerians to persevere, work hard, and remain focused on achieving positive change and progress.
