Nigerian Army Neutralizes Bandits, Recovers Weapons in Kaduna Operation

Troops of the I Division of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with Operation Whirl Punch, conducted a clearance operation in the Maro-Chibiya forest area of Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

According to Lt-Col Musa Yahaya, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations I Division Nigerian Army, the operation was based on credible intelligence.

During the operation, the troops engaged armed bandits with superior firepower, neutralizing one bandit and forcing others to flee with gunshot wounds.

The army recovered weapons, including one AK-47 rifle, one locally fabricated AK-47 rifle, and four rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition. Additionally, one mobile phone was captured from the bandits.

In a separate incident on November 10, troops of the division and Operation Whirl Punch encountered bandits at Kawara forest during a clearance operation at Kawara and Filin Jalo villages in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. In the ensuing firefight, one bandit was neutralized, and the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, one motorcycle, and one Tecno phone. Other bandits managed to escape with gunshot wounds.
