Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kogi State, Dino Melaye, faced online mockery following his defeat in the gubernatorial election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Usman Ododo, as the winner of the Kogi state governorship election.
Usman Ododo polled 446,237 votes, securing victory over Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who came second with 259,052 votes. Dino Melaye, the PDP candidate, scored 46,362 votes.
Online reactions varied, with some expressing skepticism about the election process, while others mocked Melaye.
The senator faced comments about his earlier celebration and was teased about potential songs he might sing in response to his defeat.
Despite the mixed reactions, the election results were officially announced by the Returning Officer.
