Umuahia: New Tenants Suspected in Disappearance of Four Innocent Children

Date:

In a distressing turn of events, a mere fortnight after a tricycle driver spirited away four siblings in Umuahia, a new tenant has been accused of abducting four children from different families in the same area.

The alarming incident unfolded at Uwalaka Street, situated along Ossah Road in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State.

Reportedly, two unidentified individuals posing as genuine tenants rented a room in the building where the affected families resided. Under the guise of being friendly neighbors, the alleged abductors wasted no time ingratiating themselves with the community. They went as far as offering food and gifts to the unsuspecting children, seamlessly blending into the surroundings while secretly hatching their sinister plot.

The four children, identified as Chioma (6), Ogbonne (6), Miracle (5), and Joy (3), were the targets of this distressing abduction. The grieving mothers, devastated by the sudden disappearance of their little ones, sought assistance from Flo 94.9 FM station in Umuahia to bring attention to the heart-wrenching situation.

Mrs. Ngozi Kingsley, one of the mothers, narrated her ordeal through tears, explaining, “I went to the market as usual and left my children with my sister, who visited with her two children. We had no water in the compound due to a lack of power supply, so my sister went to fetch water and took my son with her. When she returned, she discovered that my daughter Chioma, her two daughters, Ogbonne, and Joy, as well as my neighbor’s child, Miracle, were missing, and the new tenants were nowhere to be found.”

Another distressed parent, Mrs. Ifeanyi Uduma Ibe, revealed that the alleged abductors had been excessively friendly, even going so far as to cook for and shower her children with gifts since their arrival. The suspects masterfully concealed their malevolent intentions, ingratiating themselves with the unsuspecting children and parents alike.

Mrs. Ibe, who reported the incident to the police, urged the public to be vigilant. She provided specific details about her daughter, Joy, including a distinctive birthmark on her knee.

This disturbing incident adds to the growing concerns surrounding child safety in the region, prompting a heightened sense of urgency for community members and law enforcement to collaborate in swiftly resolving and preventing such heinous acts.
