Bandits Abduct Two Women in Night Raid on Katsina Town

Date:

In an incident that has raised fresh security concerns, bandits attacked the Bakin Kasuwa area of Kankia town in Katsina State on Monday night, abducting two housewives.

According to accounts of the event, the assailants invaded the community and carried out the kidnappings without facing any resistance. The attack was later detailed in a post on Tuesday by Bakatsine, a security analyst, via the social media platform X.

The analyst described the situation as worrisome, emphasizing that a successful, unchallenged assault on a key town like Kankia points to a serious security lapse. “Yesterday night, bandits stormed the Bakin Kasuwa area of Kankia town, Katsina State, abducting two housewives and escaping unchallenged,” Bakatsine wrote. “The fact that such an attack happened in a key town like Kankia, unchecked, raises serious security concerns.”

As of the time of this report, the Katsina State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. The absence of an immediate official response has left the community awaiting details on the efforts to secure the victims’ release.
