Skit creator and entertainer Lawal Nasiru Bolaji, popularly known as Nasboi, has expressed strong criticism of the Bola Tinubu-led government, describing it as “cruel” due to the rising cost of goods and services.
Though not personally facing financial difficulties, Nasboi voiced concern for Nigerians struggling in the harsh economic climate.
In a post on X, Nasboi asked his fans how they were coping, sparking mixed reactions. One user, @ala_nso, suggested Nasboi allow a Yoruba leader to govern without criticism and commented on Nigeria’s population, calling for it to be reduced. Nasboi responded by calling the user a “tribalistic fool,” leading to further online backlash.
Some users questioned Nasboi’s intentions, accusing him of using the situation to promote his music. He defended himself, insisting he was simply speaking out for the people.
Comments from other users reflected growing frustration over the economic situation in Nigeria, with one describing the hardships as making it difficult to live “from hand to mouth” and another calling Tinubu’s leadership a failure.
